Steel Magnolias

No, we aren't watching movies, just making a little rebar!  Today the ladies on our team put together yards and yards of rebar to be used in building the new retreat center, so the guys dubbed us "steel magnolias"!  All parts had to be made by hand.  The guys cut the spacers while we put it all together. The retreat center is coming along and will really be great when it is finished.

We finished delivering our chicks and lights today.  It has been such a touching experience to give out these gifts and pray for these families. Today we had a sweet surprise at one of our houses.  This little guy in the pink and white striped shirt is named Fausto and he lived at the first house we visited. Fausto is sponsored by  a family from our church, the Detwiler's. It was good to see him growing strong and doing well.

Tonight the Youth team and Family team joined for dinner and worship.  It was a great time of worship led by Diana Crane, Sophie and Emily Miller and Ben Naber.  We shared songs and testimonies of how God has been moving in our lives this week.  It was a great night!

We are all doing well. God is good!!

  1. The term Steel Magnolias seem befitting. After all, it's a Southern term that means a woman who is tough, strong, yet sweet and feminine. She has the toughness and strength of steel when it comes to family, hard times, and sad times. However, she has the loving tenderness and inner beauty that shines through. Thanks for posting, Sondra. Glad to hear everyone is doing well and to hear of God's excellent greatness!!
